In this step, you define the stock transfer strategies.
In a stock transfer procedure, materials or goods are transported from one storage location of the same plant to another storage location.
The strategies for stock transfer are defined by the following data:
- The control type determines whether the stock transfer is carried out:
- Using a stock transfer reservation, or
- Using a direct transfer posting, or
- As a delivery (only in connection with an EWM system)
For reservations, the bar code signal creates a reservation for the material. The person in the storage location fills the container with the information in the reservation list and carries out a manual transfer posting. Then the container is moved to the shop floor.
For direct posting, the bar code signal triggers the printing of a goods receipt/issue slip with which the material is withdrawn and packed into the empty containers. With the status change 'Set container to empty' the system automatically posts the goods receipt.
In the processing with an EWM system, setting a kanban to "Empty" triggers the creation of an outbound delivery. In this case, the system generates an outbound delivery as a replenishment element. The delivery of the material is carried out from an EWM-managed storage location.
- The movement type determines which movement type is used to post the automatic goods receipt for transferred materials.
- The signal locking time defines a locking period in minutes after triggering via the bar code. In this period, retriggering via the bar code does not lead to a status change in the system. This reduces the risk of faulty input, particularly via the bar code scanner.
- The form defines the content and layout of the kanban card.
