A warehouse number is an organizational unit in Logistics which organizes the company from the perspective of Warehouse Management.
In the Warehouse Management System, you can define a variety of control parameters at warehouse number level.
You need to make the following settings:
- Weights/Quantities
Use F4 Help in the respective field for the available entry options. - Control data/Administration
- Lean WM active
In the subsequent control paramter settings, the system only selects the numbers of the warehouses in which Lean WM is active. A few exceptions include the control of warehouse numbers, the interface for inventory management and print control. If you are using WM as a standalone system, you must indicate that in the warehouse number. - Messages/output
- Number ranges
In this IMG activity, you define also the number ranges for the objects for which automatic number assignment in Lean WM is provided. These objects include:
Standard settings
In the SAP standard delivery, warehouse number "100" is preset.
If your are using Lean WM, always copy warehouse number "100" as a template.
SAP Recommendation
Once you have defined your number ranges, it is extremely difficult to change them afterwards when the objects concerned are filled with data.
Bear in mind that you will be entering data on a long-term basis. Create your number range intervals accordingly.
Activities
- Define the basic data of a warehouse number
- Weights/quantities
- Control data
Define which number ranges you require for assigning transfer orders and reference numbers in Lean WM.
- Create the number range intervals.
