In this menu option, you set the control parameters for printing invididual slips for transferring storage units. There are four different kinds of storage unit slips:

  • Transfer order slip (TO slip)

(This is the standard TO slip that is controlled by the "standard" print control functions).

  • Storage unit slip (SU slip)
  • Storage unit transfer order slip (SU TO slip)
  • Storage unit contents slip (SU contents slip)

The logic behind the print control functions for storage units is the same as for "standard" print control functions -- the only difference being that all the settings are defined additionally for printing the three special slips for storage units (and not for the "standard" print slips). It is important that you read the chapter on "standard" print control before you work through this chapter.

Information on "standard" print control is available in the section "Define Print Control" of the Implementation Guide. In the following text, we will only elaborate on the storage-unit-specific aspects.

Basically, you need to maintain the following data in your system:

  • Spool Code

To print out each of the four different slips, the system requires the parameters that are defined via the spool code for control of the spool system.

The spool code is not set for any specific slip, that is, you can print different slips using the same spool code, and even use a spool code for printing slips for storage units (if this is appropriate in your particular situation).

  • Printer Pool

Since the storage unit slips are of different sizes and, in many cases, it is appropriate to print some slips on self-adhesive labels (and other slips are printed in the normal way), you can print each individual slip on its own special printer.

For this purpose, you need to define printer pools.

Enter the printer you are using for printing "standard" TO slips as the "Name" of the printer pool. Then define the printers belonging to this printer pool that are to be used for the storage unit slips. You can, of course, have several slips printed on one printer.

When you are printing out a transfer order, for example, the system receives the information on which printer a slip is to be printed from this definition. The system searches via the settings for "standard" print control for the printer for printing transfer orders. This printer is, at the same time, the name of the printer pool (see above). In this way, the system determines the individual printers for the storage units slips on the basis of the definition in the printer pool.

If you do not define settings for the printer pool, the system will use the printer defined for printing "standard" transfer orders.

  • Print Indicator

For each of the four slips, you can define which form and which spool indicators are to be used for printing. If you do not want to print a particular slip based on the definition of the print code, leave the respective entry fields blank.

Printer Assignment / Movement

Depending on the movement concerned (source storage type - destination storage type), you can define different forms and spool indicators for the storage unit slips.

Furthermore, you can switch off the printing of individual slips for certain movements.

  • Printer Assignment / Storage Type:

Here you can assign a printer pool for each storage type.

  • For the following items:
    • Assignment of Print Code / Movement Type
    • Print Report / Warehouse Number
    • Printer Control for Multiple Processing

the same rules apply as for the settings for "standard" print control. (see Chapter "Define Print Control").

Actions

  1. Create the spool codes for each warehouse number.
  2. Create a printer pool for each warehouse number.
  3. Create the print codes for each warehouse number.
  4. Assign the printers to the specific movements.
  5. Assign the printer to the storage types.
