In this step, you determine which functions (tools) are to be available for editing the structures displayed in Structural Graphics.

Several tools can be combined into a tool group. In this group, tools are assigned a two-digit numeric code. The order in which they are to be displayed is also determined.

A combination of tool groups make up a tool box. A tool box, along with a data set and a design form a context. This context can be made user-specific. See also the documentation on the steps, Specify Context-Dependent Standard Assignment and Specify User-Dependent Assignment.

Example

A user wants a user-specific tool box in the "Training and Event Hierarchy", this is to be made up of the tool group "Resources" and the tools "Insert objects" and "Move objects".

Standard settings

The function modules for editing objects and the STANDARD and WORKFORCE (Shift Planning) tool boxes are provided in the SAP standard system.

Activities

  1. Check the standard settings. If you require your own tool box, we recommend that you copy one of the tool boxes that already exist and adjust it to suit your requirements.
  2. Select a tool group or create a new tool group.
  3. Maintain the tool group description by assigning a two-digit numeric code to the tools and determining the order in which they are to appear in the tool group.
  4. Select a tool box or create a new tool box.
  5. Maintain the tool box description by assigning one or more tool groups to the tool box and determining the order in which they are to appear in the tool box.

Further notes

Tools are defined in a cross-client table. In this table, you can enter a function module for editing structures.
