In this activity, you make the settings required for the batch where-used list function. For each plant, you define whether
- the batch where-used list function is to be active
- the batch where-used file is to be updated automatically whenever a goods movement is posted
When the batch where-used file is built up, the receipt and issue records required for the batch where-used list are generated for the material document items. The system only includes material document items for plants in which building up of the file is allowed.
Standard settings
The system is shipped with the following settings:
- the batch where-used list function is active in all plants
- the batch where-used file is not updated automatically when a goods movement is posted
Recommendation
Synchronous update of the batch where-used file is an additional load for the system and is liable to impair system response times. If there is a high system load already, we recommend that you work without synchronous posting.
To manually start the report for building up the batch where-used file, choose menu options Environment -> Batch wh.-used list -> Build up in the Inventory Management menu.
Activities
Define for each plant whether
- Set indicator BaWU synchron. for those plants in which you wish the batch where-used file to be updated synchronously.
- Set indicator BaWU deactivated for those plants in which you wish to deactivate the batch where-used list function.
Further notes
If you do wish to implement the batch where-used list function at a later date and wish to have the file updated synchronously, you first need to create batch where-used records for material documents that already exist, that is you need to manually start the record once as described above.
