Before you assign values for your actual building structure, you have to define the underlying components of the building structure.
In this IMG activity, you determine how the building unit hierarchy of your hospital should look. You stipulate
- The number of levels in the hierarchy
- Which building categories are located above which other building categories in this hierarchy.
Activities
Establish a hierarchical relationship between the building unit categories by entering the category that is directly above a lower-level category in your building structure.
Note that
- Several categories can be located above any one building category.
- A building category that is the higher-level category in a hierarchy relationship cannot at the same time be below the same building category.
Example
You want to assign a bed location (B) to a sickroom (S).
You would make the following entries for this example
High Low
S B
- High: higher-level building unit category
- Low: lower-level building unit category
Note
You are, in principle, free to structure the building hierarchy as you like. However, to assign patients to rooms and bed locations you have to assign building categories for which the room indicator is set and with building type "11" (sickroom) or building type "12" (corridor in which bed locations can be set up) above building categories for which the bed location indicator is set.
