You use this IMG activity to define the message type for VMS Message Determination. You specify whether the message is to be printed, faxed, mailed, or sent through EDI. By assigning access sequences you determine the contents you want transferred.

Standard settings

The SAP standard system contains message types VLC1 (vehicle details) and VLC2 (vehicle details IDoc).

Recommendation

Activities

  1. Check to what extent you are able to use SAP standard version message types.
  2. If necessary create new message types:
    1. Copy an already existing message type.
    2. In the details about the message type, choose a key and a name for the message type, plus an Access Sequence. Select the condition access field. If required, select default values for transmission medium, dispatch time, and partner role. Use message condition records to override these default values.
    3. Choose a document title.
    4. Choose a layout module or smart-form for the format.
    5. Choose the Partner Roles that you require.
