In this activity you specify a valuation procedure for every costing component determined with flexible procedures. This valuation procedure describes the necessary controlling information, and how the information is put together.

In addition, you specify via the condition type to which category the following belong:

  • Base condition types

Condition types which prepare base amounts (e.g. for a markup)

  • Markup condition types

Condition types which prepare markup rates

Example

You can create one condition type for each of risk costs, equity capital costs, and unit costs.

Example contd.

  1. Condition type 1 (CT1): NPV of average effective capital

Category: Base amount from value field

  2. Condition type 2 (CT2): Periodic effective capital

Category: Base amount from value field

  3. Condition type 3 (CT3): NPV of equity costs 1

Category: Markup rate from conditions table

  4. Condition type 4 (CT4): Periodic equity costs 1

    Category: Markup rate from formula

  5. Condition type 5 (CT5): NPV of equity costs 2

Category: Markup rate from conditions table

  6. Condition type 6 (CT6): Periodic equity costs 2

    Category: Markup rate from formula

  7. Condition type 7 (CT7): Unit costs in t0

Category: Fixed amount from conditions table

  8. Condition type 8 (CT8): Current unit costs

Category: Fixed amount from conditions table

  9. Condition type 9 (CT9): Unit costs (end)

Category: Fixed amount from conditions table

  10. Condition type 10 (CT10): Unit costs (sum)

    Category: Amount from formula

  11. Condition type 11 (CT11): NPV of risk costs for transaction

Category: Markup rate from conditions table

  12. Condition type 12 (CT12): Periodic risk costs for transaction

    Category: Markup rate from formula

  13. Condition type 13 (CT13): NPV risk costs for land

Category: Markup rate from conditions table

  14. Condition type 14 (CT14): Periodic risk costs for land

    Category: Markup rate from formula

CT14    'IAA'    none

Important Note

If you change the control or base value of a condition type or have already created condition records, you have to create the condition records anew ("Create condition records"). If the system finds condition records for the characteristic values of the old condition type (with control and base values), a warning will be displayed about overlapping validity periods. You will have to confirm this warning in order to overwrite the old records. IMPORTANT: The existing records cannot be changed to use the new control or base values using "Change condition records".

Requirements

You have make the following settings in order to refer to the object in question:

  • Create conditions table
  • Establish an access sequence

If you use quantity or value fields in the condition type, you must have assigned Value fields or Quantity fields to an existing costing sheet.

Activities

  1. Give a name to the condition type. Assign an access sequence to the condition type to establich which condition tables will be used to access condition records and in what order this happens. You enter no access sequence if the condition type works without condition record determination (control 'KBB', 'IBB', and 'IAA'). Name the condition type so that it reflects the costing component to be determined by it.
  2. Set the control and the condition maseter maintenance for the condition type.
  3. Save your entries.
