Use
In this IMG activity you set up the following working time attributes:
For more information on the use of these working time attributes, see Task Type, Task Component and Task Level.
You can use these working time attributes in the following application interfaces of the time sheet as input fields:
- CATS Regular
- CATS Classic
- CATS Notebook
Note: For more information on the CATS Notebook, see SAP Service Marketplace at
service.sap.com/cats.
- CATS for Service Providers
Activities
- Define the required task levels and components.
- Next, specify the required task types and assign them to the corresponding task levels and components.
- Under Derivatives, specify the values within a combination of task type and task component that are to be valid for each task level. You can use derivatives to have the system valuate different task levels differently.
Example
You want to set up task type, task component and task level for the entry of consulting activities:
- You create a task type CONS (consulting).
- You assign the task type levels B1 (junior consultant) and B2 (senior consultant) and the task component MD (man days) to this task type.
- Under derivatives, you specify the values that are to be valid for the task levels B1 and B2 in the combination task type CONS and task component MD. Then you enter values for the following working time attributes for each task level:
- Type of absence/attendance
- Wage type
- Activity type
- Sender business process
- Activity number
Note: You cannot subsequently change the derivatives (that may also appear on each application interface of the working time sheet) when entering data. This also applies if one of the fields for this working time attribute is ready for input - any changes made here would have no effect. If you want to change the derivatives in certain cases, you can use the Business Add-In CATS_DERIVATIVES (Change Derivatives ).
Result: If a junior consultant enters working times and tasks using task level B1, the system can valuate the data differently from the way it does for a senior consultant who uses the task level B2.
