Use
In this Customizing activity you make it possible for the user to disable courtesy withholding for employees who live in Pennsylvania (PA) and work in another state.
After you perform the steps described in the Activity section, a new field is displayed in the Residence Tax Area (0207) infotype. This field is called Courtesy withholding (P10_COURTESY_WH). By means of this field the user can disable courtesy withholding. The possible values for the Courtesy withholding field are as follows:
Blank: This is the default value. The withholding tax is calculated for PA localities, that is, the system applies courtesy withholding.
2 - Not allowed: If the user enters this value, the withholding tax is not calculated for PA localities, that is, the system does not apply courtesy withholding.
Requirements
You have applied the following to your system:
BSI TaxFactory cyclic 9.0.g.
Tax Update Bulletin (TUB) 071 for TaxFactory 9.0.
Standard settings
In the standard system as currently delivered, for employees who live in Pennsylvania (PA) and work in another state, courtesy withholding is always applied. That is, the tax is always withheld for PA Localities.
Activities
Execute this Customizing activity.
Select the Country Grouping '10'.
Choose Continue.
Go to Define HR Attribute Groups and choose New entries.
Insert the new group as shown below:
HR Attribute Group: GR_PA
HR Attribute Group Description: State of Pennsylvania
HR Attribute: CL_STATE
Customizable Value of HR Attribute: PA
Save your entries.
On the Define HR Attributes Groups screen, select the group GR_PA and go to Define HR Attribute Values:
Insert the new attribute as shown below:
HR Attribute: AT_COURTESY_WH
Start Date: 1800-01-01
End Date: 9999-12-31
Customizable Value of HR Attribute: X
Choose Activate.
Result
After you execute the steps described above, for those employees who live in Pennsylvania (PA), the Courtesy withholding (P10_COURTESY_WH) field is displayed in the Residence Tax Area (0207) infotype. The default value of the field is blank, that is, the system applies courtesy withholding. The user must manually change the value of the field to '2 - Not allowed' to change the system behavior if required.
