In this section, you specify whether or not number assignment should apply across all plan versions. The option you choose will determine the types of subgroups (number ranges) that you can use.

If you do not want to have number assignment across plan versions, you must create number ranges of your own for each plan version (and, if applicable, for each object type). If you do want number assignment to apply to all plan versions, you create the number ranges that are valid for all plan versions. In this case, you cannot use number ranges.

Standard settings

In the standard system, number assignment is not performed across plan versions.

Recommendation

Use number assignment across plan versions if you intend to transfer data between plan versions. Otherwise, objects may be overwritten.

Activities

  1. If you want numbers to be assigned across all plan versions, enter an 'X' in the Value abbrev. field.
  2. Otherwise, leave the Value abbrev. field empty.
  3. Choose Save.
