Use
In this IMG activity you can create new infotypes and edit existing infotypes.
A new technology is available for creating infotypes. The basic principle of the new technology is removing the previously close coupling between the business logic and the user interface, meaning the visual representation of data (ABAP dynpros).
A new infotype framework was developed, called the "decoupled infotype framework". The decoupled infotype framework is directly used in applications such as Employee Self-Services or HR Administrative Services that have their own user interface. Furthermore, in HR master data maintenance (PA30), there are configurations in which parts of the old and parts of the new framework are used together. This is particularly the case if functions from the Concurrent Employment, Management of Global Employees, or Payroll for Global Employees applications are activated.
For an infotype to be able to run in the decoupled infotype framework (and therefore in the new applications), it must be decoupled. For an overview of the decoupled infotypes, see the following IMG activities:
You can also use the Checking Decoupled Infotypes (RHPAD00_CHECK_INFTY_DECOUPLING) program to display and check decoupling details.
Note
When you create a new infotype, always use the decoupled technology. Migrate existing infotypes to the decoupled technology particularly if you want to use them in applications that directly access the decoupled infotype framework such as Employee Self-Services and HR Administrative Services. This IMG activity supports creating decoupled infotypes and migrating infotypes that were not previously decoupled.
