In this step you set up the types of Identity Cards which an employee may hold. You can also specify a routine to perform a consistency check on the identification number.

Example

Identity card type number 01 represents the personal identification document and has an associated routine, which determines the control digit of the 'ID Number' and displays it in a warning message, so that the user can confirm it.

Standard settings

The SAP standard system already contains IC types for currently issued Identity Cards.

Recommendation

Activities

Check the entries contained in the SAP standard system. If you want to add futher IC types, proceed as follows:

  1. Select New entries.
  2. Enter a two digit, alphanumerical key which identifies the Identity Card type. The customer name range is Y* or Z*.
  3. Enter a short description.
  4. If applicable, enter the name of the routine that performs the consistency check on the identification number.
  5. If applicable, enter the name of the program where the routine you entered in the previous step is defined.
  6. Save your entries.
