SI groups can be used to group certain SI data like contribution percentages or free allowances [franchises] Therefore, SI groups are a convenient way of assigning a set of social insurance data to an employee, so that SI calculations can be controlled per person.

Example

Suppose some employees are granted a free allowance for the ZFW (Health Insurance Act) scheme while others are not. To account for both, you create two SI groups with identical data except for the free allowance for ZFW.

Standard settings

The system is supplied with a number of SI group sample records with data for each social security law. You can use the number range 900 to 949 to create your own SI groups.

Recommendation

Try to limit the number of SI groups. If, for example, a number of employees do not take part in a particular SI scheme, it is possible to create a new SI group which does not contain data for that scheme. However, it is sufficient to set the appropriate contribution indicator to "0" (not liable to contribution) for the employees concerned.

Activities

Define the SI groups you require and enter them into the system.
