In this step, you determine how the wage types relevant to tax are to be processed during the payroll run.
This is controlled by means of the following evaluation classes and cumulation:
- Evaluation class 7: Wage type allocation for Tax Returns
This evaluation class determines to which category of wage types that are either exempt from income tax, or eligible for tax refunds, a wage type belongs to. The wage type is then printed in the corresponding section of forms IR8A and IR21.
- Evaluation class 9: Wage type for income tax form IR8S
This evaluation class determines to which category of wage types, that require income tax calculation, a wage type belongs. The wage type is then printed in the corresponding section of form IR8S.
- Cumulation 11: Tax pot 1
If cumulation 11 is selected for a wage type, it will be added to cumulation wage type /111. None of the wage types of the SAP standard delivery system is added to cumulation 11. You can use this cumulation for your own evaluations.

Activities
Check the coding of wage types in the SAP standard delivery system. If you want to make changes, proceed as follows:
- Select a wage type and choose Detail.
- Enter a validity period.
- Define the specification for evaluation classes 7. If a wage type is not elegible for tax refunds or tax exemption, leave this field blank.
- Define the specification for evaluation classes 9. If a wage type does not require income tax calculation, leave this field blank.
- Select cumulation 11 if the wage type is to be added to cumulation /111.
- Save your entries.
