In this step, you create redundancy models that are used to read redundancy tables for leave payments, leave without pay affecting years of service, calculating termination payments and eligible termination payments. To do this, you modify the feature 13RDN to read employee data on:
- Leave without pay affecting years of service
- Quota payments
- Severances
- In lieu payments
- Additional redundancy pay
- Redundancy wage types
Example
One group of employees requires severance pay at a rate of two week's pay for every year of service. Another group of employees requires severance pay at a rate of three week's pay for every year of service.
To calculate the correct amount of severance pay for each group of employees, you would enter the following data in feature 13RDN:
- Country grouping (for example, 13)
- Employee grouping (for example, 1)
- Employee subgroup (for example, Q1)
- Variable &13RDN
- A redundancy model (for example, REDUND01 for employees entitled to two week's severance pay)
The SAP System subsequently uses the redundancy model to read all table entries on absences, leave without pay, severances, leave in lieu, and redundancy wage types stored for employees in country grouping 13, employee grouping 1 and employee subgroup Q1.
Requirements
Standard settings
The standard system contains the following model entries in feature 13RDN:
- Action 01
- Termination variable 02
- Employee grouping 1
- Employee subgroup Q1 - Q4
- Redundancy reasons REDUND01 - 04
The redundancy reason has a maximum of eight characters.
Recommendation
Activities
To set up feature 13RDN to read the redundancy tables, you:
- Enter a termination variable under &13RDN=TERMINAT.
- Enter the employee details (for example, the employee subgroup).
- Enter the redundancy reason.
Further notes
The 13RDN feature can be configured to identify different employee groupings depending on your company structure. To access the variables used in the feature, choose Goto -> Structure.
For more information on maintaining features, see the SAP Library documentation under HR -> HR Tools -> Features Editor.
