In this step, you define a separate superannuation salary that is used instead of the employee's actual salary to calculate superannuation contributions. This is known as the period super salary, and is set up according to pay scale type, pay scale area and pay scale group.
A period super salary is used where groups of employees have the same salary for superannuation. The amount you enter is the salary for the period, and not the employees' annual salary.
Example
You have an award agreement where all clerks of a certain salary level are grouped as 'standard clerks' for superannuation purposes. In this case, superannuation is calculated according to the salary defined in the award agreement as opposed to the employees' actual earnings.
Requirements
You must have defined the pay scale type, area and group for the employee grouping subject to the period super salary.
