This step describes how you define the type of employment under which your company has hired an employee.

Example

An employee can be hired on a:

  • Full-time basis
  • Part-time basis
  • Casual basis
  • Hours-worked basis

Standard settings

In the standard system, you define whether an employee is hired full-time or part-time in the Planned Working Time infotype (0007).

You define an employee's contract conditions in the Contract Elements infotype (0016).

Activities

  1. To set up an employee's employment type, in the Planned Working Time infotype:
    1. If an employee is hired on a part-time basis, set a flag in the Part-time employee field.
    2. If an employee is hired on a full-time basis, leave the Part-time employee field blank.
  2. To set up an employee's contract conditions for part-time or full-time work, enter the relevant contract type in the Contract Elements infotype.

For example, enter contract type 99, if you want the employee to accrue leave proportionally based on the number of hours worked.
