Within this IMG step, you perform several tasks that enable you to utilize the Workers' Compensation Assessable Earnings Report with maximum accuracy and efficiency. These tasks include:
Creation of wage type application(s):
Each wage type application represents a collection of wage types, gathered into "wage type buckets," that are grouped to reflect a specific area for which you want to apply the report. For example, in the standard system, two pre-configured wage type applications - WCBQ and WCBN - enable you, respectively, to process Workers' Compensation within Quebec and outside of Quebec.
Creating wage type buckets for the wage type application
Each wage type bucket represents a pool of accumulated wage types. The total amount present in any wage type bucket represents the sum of the amounts of all wage types contained therein. While each wage type bucket represents a subset of the data relevant to the wage type application, for Workers' Compensation processing, you are not required to maintain more than one wage type bucket, although you are free to do so.
Example In the standard system, wage type application WCBN contains wage type bucket WCBN, to which all wage types related to WCB-assessable income outside of Quebec are assigned.
Assigning wage types to wage type buckets
Each wage type bucket contains all wage types that are relevant for the corresponding processing function. For example, in the standard system, wage type bucket WCBN contains wage type /102 (Regular taxable income), since this amounts in this wage type are relevant in WCB processing.
Standard settings
SAP delivers two standard (pre-defined) wage type applications, WCBN and WCBQ.
Recommendation
While the pre-defined wage type applications and wage type buckets are designed to meet standard reporting requirements, you may still need to create additional wage type applications to meet the needs of your enterprise.
