Use

In this step, you confirm the reporting address(es) of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Business Number(s) assigned to your enterprise. The Record of Employment (ROE) Workbench extracts the information stored here for inclusion in the respective set of ROE form data. This extracted data is printed subsequently by the external software application ROE Laser Print within:

  • ROE Block 4 - Employer's Name and Address
  • ROE Block 5 - Canada Revenue Agency Business Number (BN)
  • ROE Block 7 - Postal Code

If your enterprise has elected to activate the ROE Workbench for productive use with ROE Web, this information is submitted within the same ROE blocks online.

Requirements

Before you can confirm the reporting addresses stored here, you must first configure your Business Numbers via the following Payroll Canada IMG step:

Furthermore, once your Business Numbers are configured, you must also configure the reporting addresses for your Business Numbers via a subsequent IMG step:

Once you configure your Business Numbers in the former step and define their addresses in the latter, you can execute this step to confirm the accuracy of their addresses.

No restrictions exist to prevent you from executing this IMG step and modifying - rather than confirming - the information stored here. Nonetheless, we recommend that you only modify the information stored here in cases of absolute necessity, because any changes that you make here affect not only ROE reporting, but all other avenues of legal reporting related to CRA Business Numbers, including Year End Reporting. Therefore, to ensure that your data remains as consistent as possible, we recommend that you execute the following IMG step ... rather than this one ... to modify any data stored here:

Activities

  1. Execute this IMG step.
  2. On the subsequent screen, confirm that the CRA Business Number, name, street address, city, province or territory, and postal code have been accurately recorded for each of the companies at hand. Inaccuracies in this data may lead to the extraction of erroneous ROE form data and the printing of erroneous ROE forms.
    1. If you find inaccuracies in this data, execute the IMG step named above to resolve them.
    2. If you find no inaccuracies in this data, exit this IMG step and proceed to the next one.
  3. Confirm that your Business Profile Setup - for example, if you use the external HRSDC software application ROE Laser Print - accurately reflects the CRA Business Number, name, street address, city, province or territory, and postal code recorded in the system for each of the companies you have defined.
