In this step, you define the grouping of each of your valuation rules.
Example
Requirements
Standard settings
There are six standard valuation rule groups:
- Complete Days
The absence split covers the whole working day, that is, all the hours that the employee is scheduled to work. The various subtypes of this type allow the various payment bands to be implemented.
- Non-Qualifying Days for Reducing Entitlement
The absence split covers a day that does not reduce the employee's entitlements and therefore is not paid.
- Waiting Days
The absence split covers a day that does not reduce an employee's entitlements, but still can be paid at a reduced rate. Usually these days have to be "served" each absence or during a previously "linked" absence.
- Part Days
The absence split does not cover a whole working day. If part day processing is active then the complementary part-day valuation rule must exist for each complete day and waiting day valuation rule.
- Non-Qualifying Days for Payment
The absence split covers a day that does or does not reduce the employee's entitlements, but is definitely not paid.
- Nil Pay Days
The absence split can cover a whole or part-day, but is used as a default valuation rule (for all absence groupings) when the employee has used all their entitlements.
Recommendation
Use the valuation rules provided by SAP where possible. There should be no need to define any others. Simply change the text and the customising associated with it.
