The premium (holiday bonus) corresponds to the payment of a 13th month's salary. The amount is determined according to a set month (usually September) and the payment is normally made in November. The details are outlined in the special 'Collective Agreements for Premiums'.

The premium amount is made up of two elements:

  • Leave payment, the employee would have received if he/she had been on vacation throughout the assessment month.
  • Increased amount for children, only paid to employees with children that qualify for child allowance.

You can define the wage types included in leave compensation along with the additional leave bonus by means of your specification for processing class 69. Depending on the setting you make, these wage types are included either in full in the leave compensation, or as a preset percentage (payroll constant OEWGE for the former East Germany and OEWGW or OEWAW for the West). These constants are used because the premiums from 1994 onwards are based on the amounts valid in 1993.

Caution: The constants OEWGW, OEWAW, OEWGE, and OEWAE are stored in the table of constants and are multiplied by 100. For example, 98.04 % is stored as 9804.00.

The additional bonus for leave is created automatically provided that it was not explicitly taken from the premium.

Models can be stored for assessment and also payment arrangements; they can be individually overwritten using the Special Regulations infotype.

Based on the pay scale type, you can define a payment model using the following values from table T5D7Q:

  • Assessment month: Here you can decide which calendar should be choosen for the assessment of the premium.
  • Payment month: Here you can determine the payment month for the premium.
  • Wage type: This field determines which wage type is used to effect the payment of the bonus (moel wage type O022).
  • Additional bonus for leave Using this field you determine whether an additional bonus for leave record should be taken into consideration or not for the premium.
  • Constant: In this field you can enter a constant from table T511K. The premium is then valuated solely with this constant, the payment specified in the assessment month is ignored.
  • BlAuPrGe(Block automatic premium generation): Here you can block the automatic generation of premiums.

Requirements

To derive a claim for the increase amount for children, the children must be defined as 'entitled' in the Family-Related Bonuses infotype.

Some absences lasting longer than a month (unpaid leave, for example) reduce the employee's entitlement to the full premium. Other absences lasting longer than a month (maternity protection, military service, parental leave, for example) do not affect the employee's entitlement to a full premium. In order to determine the exact semantic assignment of these absence types, they must be specified in the table Flag Absences as follows:

  • A Additional sickness benefit
  • B Parental leave
  • C Soldier serving for set time
  • D Unpaid leave
  • E Military service
  • F Maternity protection
  • blank Other

Caution:

The automatic generation can only be acitvated on January 1st of the payroll year. Assign models for the current payroll year that deactivate the automatic generation of premiums. Refer to chapter Assignment of Valid Special Payment Models.

Recommendation

The current values for the payroll constant OEWGE are delivered by SAP when the fiscal year changes. It is always a possibilty that the values can be changed again by the legislature, shortly before the new fiscal year and after they have been delivered. If this occurs we will inform you, via an error note or a letter after the change of the fiscal year, of the correct values that you will need to enter for the constant.

Activities

  1. Choose Code wage types for special purposes, and encode all the relevant wage types in processing class 69 that can be assigned to the infotype Basic Pay and included in the premium.
  2. Choose Reduction factor for special bonus and, if necessary, adjust the values for constants OEWAE to OEWTV. Then modify calculation rule DOZ0., Here you determine which constants apply to which person groups, subgroups, or collective agreements.
  3. Choose Child increase amount and, if necessary, modify the value of constant OKGBR.
  4. Choose Model for controlling contributions, and maintain the models on which the calculation and payment of the premium are based.
  5. Choose Flag absences, and enter the absence indicator in the SB field.
  6. Choose Copy wage types, and create a wage type for the premium (model wage type O022).
