According to the hospital/nursing accounting regulation (HAR/NAR), it is essential to define the service type (employee groups) for which expense accounts are to be managed in Financial Accounting, and the service type to which the employees are to be assigned.
To assign employees to a service type, the service type and service category of the infotypes Organizational Assignment (0001) and Cost Distribution (0027) were extended using a view for hospital and nursing home area.
In addition, the service type and service category can, in all cases, be given an individual cost distribution (for example, for infotypes Recurring Payments and Deductions [0014] or Additional Payments [0015]).
This additional information is saved in the payroll results and serves as criteria for the account determination when transferring posting to Accounting for the posting of costs.
Example
In account group 60 (wages and salaried employees), an account must be created for all existing service types. 6000 Wages and salaried employees medical services

The same breakdown can be used in account groups 61 (statutory social security contributions), 62 (expenses for retirement pension plan), 63 (expenses for assistance and support) and 64 (other personnel expenses).
A doctor in a hospital is assigned the service type 00 (medical services) in their organizational assignment for example; thus the exisiting personnel costs are posted to accounts 6000, 6100, 6300 and 6400.
This example refers to a hospital.
However in the nursing home other service types are used according to NAR; the account groups are identical to the hospital area.
