Example
A pension plan states that a monthly pension calculated with the 'Employment Period to Income' method must not exceed 70% of the pensionable income. A minimum pension is also guaranteed. This minimum pension is calculated from the number of imputable employment years multiplied by DEM5.
This special rule cannot be portrayed with any of the standard default calculation methods. For this reason, a final processing module is created for the further processing of the pension from the 'Employment Period to Income' calculation method.
In this case, the core part of the final processing rule is a customer function module that queries the minimum and maximum pension accordingly.
Requirements
You have already set up an entitlement with the derived benefit type. You have assigned a calculation method to the entitlement and the specifications for this method have been defined in the Administration of Calculation Methods step.
Standard settings
You can store simple final processing steps in the system, for example, the maximum pension coverage. In complicated cases, it is usually necessary to create a separate final processing module and assign it to the final processing rule.
Activities
When you have created a function module, you must flag it as relevant for final processing in table T5DWY. Use the naming conventions for function modules for final processing (see the model entry in T5DWY). Also note that the interface for final processing modules is defined in the standard system (see model module).
Further notes
Final processing rules can be intergrated at different points in the pension calculation process. This can be specified using the events in final processing. For example, a final processing step can be called for a vesting calculation after an increase calculation.
