In this step, you define the possible keys for forms of address for business partners. You can enter versions of the form of address in other languages for each key you define.

A form-of-address key is used to define the following:

  • form-of-address text for F4 help
  • gender key that controls which entries are allowed
  • indicator to distinguish between sole proprietors and legal persons

The form-of-address key is a required entry when you create a business partner in the system.

You can enter language-dependent texts for the form of address for each key for use in correspondence with foreign business partners. The system uses the language key to select the appropriate text.

This Customizing activity is based on Media business partner technology (previous business partner solution) and still forms the basis for correct usage of the SAP Business Partner. Please assign the entries you make here to the corresponding settings for the SAP Business Partner in the following Customizing activity.

Activities

  1. To create a form-of-address key, please proceed as follows.
    1. Specify an alphanumeric key of up to 2 characters.
    2. Specify the gender key.
    3. Select the 'Sole proprietor' indicator if applicable.
    4. Enter the form-of-address text for the F4 help.
  2. To create a language-dependent form of address, please proceed as follows:
    1. Select the form-of-address key for which you want to create a language-dependent form of address.
      The system displays the form of address for your country.
    2. Enter the language key for which the foreign-language form of address is being created.
    3. Enter the foreign-language text for the F4 help.
