In this step, you transfer Italian postal data on cities and postal codes into the system.
Recommendation
You should run this program before running the program for transferring streets.
Before you perform this step, we recommend that you create an index for table JSTORTPRO containing the fields LAND1 and ORT_NAME_L. This index is also required for the transfer program for streets.
Activities
Execute the program as follows:
- Enter the following data:
- Country
- Number of records for database commit
- Code page start
- Code page destination
- Version data (version number, year, month, day) on the file imported
- Choose Execute.

You can restart this program at any time.
Once you have transferred the cities, you should work through the log, since there are certain records that the program cannot transfer.
The following types of records are not transferred:
- The region or postal code are missing from the record or the postal code format is incorrect.
- The record contains a city that was already transferred with an alternate name.
Cities that have an alternate name appear twice in the input file. In this case, the first record is transferred but the second is not transferred. However, the city name from the second record is copied to the field 'Alternate city name' in the first record.
These errored records must be entered manually.
