In this activity, you define which components are loaded in the navigation and application areas of the Customer Interaction Center (CIC) when this is accessed. The navigation area and the application area have two screen areas with different sizes in the L-shape layout (Slot 5 and 6).

The navigation and application areas can each contain up to 10 tab pages on which you can enter the following content:

  • HTML configurations

Additional information is available in Customizing under Customer Service -> Customer Interaction Center-> Component Configuration -> Application Area.

  • Specialized components that are available for use in the navigation and application areas.

This includes the object repository, a hit list selection for the business partner search, order lists, ad item entry, customer overview and data environment.

Recommendation

  • Use the possible entries to select the HTML configurations, components and their profiles (if required), since making invalid entries here can lead to problems during runtime.
  • Use the object repository component (Business Data Display) in the navigation area that is required for action box calls.
  • You should only use the contact processing component in the application area.
  • The customer overview component also accesses an HTML configuration. This configuration is accessed again to identify or correct a business partner.

When making the Customizing settings for this HTML configuration, note the following: Book external parameters in which object type BUSISM007 is to be entered with editor sequence 1 and external parameters in which the key (current business partner number) is to be entered with editor sequence 2. Choose names for the parameter that can be identified by the HTML page called.

You can also define a different HTML configuration that the system will display if no business partner is currently identified. The name of this HTML configuration consists of the name of the customer information HTML configuration to which _INIT is added.

  • The business partner hit list component (ISM_HITLIST) can be used instead of the business partner selection dialog box. If the component has been incorporated in the navigation or application area, display takes place in the CIC instead of a dialog box.
If the component is not incorporated here, the business partner selection is displayed on a dialog box.

Further notes

Incorporate the definition of your navigation and application areas as a profile under the DEFAULT_WORKSPACES component profile type in your CIC profile. You should also include the application area (APPL_AREA_2) and navigation area (NAV_AREA) components in the framework used.

  • To switch from the navigation or application area to the full screen display, the LAYOUTSWITCH component must be incorporated in the invisible components when the Front Office framework is defined. The FRW_LAYOUT_BIG_APPL function code used to switch the application area to the full screen display and the FRW_LAYOUT_BIG_NAV function code is used to switch the navigation area to the full screen display on the CIC interface (status) must also be included.
The FS8200 und PFS8200_T interface statuses from the EE_CIC_TOOLBAR function group can be used as an example.
