Planning object classes comprise many planning objects of the same type. This composition enables relatively easy entry of characteristics that are linked to services and planning objects.
Example
For the surgical procedure Appendectomy, a preparation time of 20 minutes should be used for all operating rooms. For this case an Operating Room planning object class is defined, to which the single planning objects defined for the operating rooms are assigned. The preparation time of 20 minutes is entered when the service is defined in the basic data of IS-H and IS-H*MED for the planning object class Operating Room. With this definition, the system will assign 20 minutes as the preparation time to each operating room that belongs to the planning object class Operating Room in the calculation of the surgery duration.
