Use
When allocating visit appointments the system will take into account time slots for defined planning objects. Planning objects can be:
- The organizational unit (OU) itself
- The treating physicians
- The treatment rooms of the OU
Time slots are typed using scheduling types. You can store, for example, the initial visit or follow-up visit as scheduling types which are generally valid. You can also maintain examinations to be scheduled as scheduling types.
Activities
For each treatment organizational unit (Organizational Unit field), in which visit scheduling should be performed, you must store at least one scheduling type (Sched.Type field).
You enter the description (Description field) and the duration (in minutes) for each scheduling type.
The following applies for visit scheduling: The time scale of the day calendar is calculated in minutes. The scaling value is calculated from the largest common denominator of the stored minute values. If, for example, you have 3 scheduling types with the minute values 10, 15, and 20, the scaling value for the OU would be 5 minutes.
The planning grid displays free time slots with the duration which you stored as the minute values for the scheduling types. The display is oriented towards the scaling factor which you selected for the display of the planning grid. You set the scaling factor using the OU-related parameters N1PTART and N1PTAST. You can also set the scaling factor in the planning grid using pushbuttons.
The visit type entry (initial visit/follow-up visit) is used as an additional selection criterion when planning appointments (for example, find all free appointments of "initial visit" type).
Using scheduling types which have the scheduling lock indicator, you can store, for example, absences such as vacation or seminar participation, for a planning object using the time slot maintenance function. Patient appointments cannot then be allocated during these times.
Recommendation
We recommend that you only roughly type the time slots of an OU using the "initial vists" and "follow-up visit" scheduling types.
