In this IMG activity, you make the following settings:

  • You specify a default output language for correspondence. This is the language in which correspondence is output to a participant in Training Management if the form is not available in the required language.

    In the SAP standard system, a notification is output in the default output language if no language is stored for the participant or the form is not available in the language that is stored AND the form is not available in the course language.

    Note

    You use the BAdI Specify General Rules for Correspondence Output to specify all the output languages you require. If no form exists in the output language, the default output language is used.

  • You specify the priority for the work item generated by the error workflow for automatic correspondence.

    Note

    If you enter the value 1 (highest) here, the workflow agent receives a message in a dialog box informing him or her that an error has occurred in correspondence. The agent can navigate directly to the integrated inbox from there.

Example

English is set as the default language for correspondence.

In the method SET_OUTPUT_LANGUAGE des BAdIs Specify General Rules for Correspondence Output, the SAP standard settings was not changed.

A participant from Switzerland wants to participate in a course held in French.

The SAP system first looks for the form in the language stored for the participant, Italian. The form is not available in Italian.

The system then looks for the form in the language of the course, French. The form is not available in French.

The system then resorts to the default language stored and sends the form to the particiant in English.

Standard settings

The default value for output language is EN for English.

The default value for the work item priority is 5 = medium.

Activities

  1. If required, change the default output language from English.
  2. If required, change the default priority set for the workflow work item.
