In this step, you define groups of employees for differentiating guidelines that apply to at least one compensation plan.

Example

To grant a 10% salary increase to the board members, an 8% to executive employees, a 6% to sales representatives and a 5% to your administrative staff, you would have to define four distinct groupings.

Requirements

You must have set up the Personnel Administration and Organizational Management components successfully.

Standard settings

The SAP System is shipped with a sample grouping that you can change to meet your company-specific requirements.

Recommendation

For each compensation area, determine which groupings apply to your organization.

Activities

  1. Select the relevant compensation area.
  2. Choose New entries.
  3. Enter a 4-character code and a description.
  4. Save your entries.
  5. Repeat the previously mentioned steps for any further groupings.
