Use

In this IMG activity, you check the settings required for export and import.

Activities

  1. Check the standard entries in the following IMG activities in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools:
    • Check Identification Listing
    • The following identification listings must be available:
D_IEDXIBDS: Identifiers with which the SAP system searches for specifications in the SAP system when importing reports
D_IESEARCH: Identifiers with which the SAP system searches for specifications in the SAP system when importing specifications
D_IESCREEN: Identifiers displayed for the specifications found by the SAP system when importing reports or specifications into the SAP system
    • Specify Environment Parameters
    • Check the standard entries for the following environment parameters:
EXPORT_CHARACTER_NORM: Code page format of exported data
SUBCHAR_DEFAULT: Standard for substance nature during import
IMPORT_CHECK_PROT_EXPIRE_DAYS: Expiration days for import check log
JOB_PAST_DAYS: Expiration days for export/import log
  2. Check the entries in the following IMG activities. These are used by the SAP system if no appropriate data is entered in the transfer file:
  3. Check whether the data providers that you entered in the transfer file during data import are present in the SAP system. To do this, in the EH&S menu choose Product Safety -> Tools -> Addresses -> Edit Data Providers.

    Note:

  4. In the SAP system, assign the data to a data provider via an authorization group. To do this, in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools edit the IMG activity Specify Authorization Groups.
  5. In the standard SAP system, log objects are delivered that you can check as follows:
    1. Choose the transaction SLG0.
    2. The Change View "Objects": Overview screen appears.
    3. Check if the object EHDI exists.
    4. Check whether the following subobjects exist for importing EH&S data:
    5. IMP_LIT    Source import log
      IMP_PHR    Phrase import log
      IMP_REP    Report import log
      IMP_SUB    Specification import log
      IMP_TEMPL    Report template log
      IMP_TREE    Property tree log
  6. When assigning number ranges, note the following regarding import:
  7. During import, the system can only create objects (such as specifications, phrases, or reports) whose key lies in the external number range of the object.

If the number ranges match in the source and target systems, then objects whose key lies in the internal number range can theoretically be exported from the source system, but nothing can be imported into the target system. In this case, the number ranges must be adapted, at least for the duration of the import. This can be done in the respective IMG activities. See Number Range Objects in EH&S.
If the object with the internal key already exists in the target system, it is only an update and it is not necessary to adapt the number ranges.
