Use

In this IMG activity, you check the settings that are delivered in the standard system for the SAP component Basic Data and Tools in Customizing for Document Management. These include:

  • Document types
  • Language-dependent descriptions of the document types
  • Document statuses
  • Language-dependent descriptions of the document statuses

The document statuses that are assigned to document type SBR can be used in report management.

Standard settings

The system is delivered with default settings.

Recommendation

Do not change the default settings.

Activities

  1. Call the IMG activity.
  2. Check the default settings.
  3. Define the language-dependent descriptions for document statuses and document types in all the languages you require.
  4. The environment parameter REPORT_DMS_SUPPORT is delivered activated. With this setting the system uses the Business Application Programming Interfaces (BAPIs) for Document Management for access to the EH&S documents stored in the document management system.

    If you retain the above default setting, also check the settings described below.

    • Check the following document types:
    • -DBE
      -DBV
      -EBE
      -EBV
      -IBD
      -SBE
      -SBR
      -SBV
      -OHD
      -IHD

  1. Select a document type and choose Details.
  2. Make sure that the Version assign. indicator is not set.
  3. Make sure that the number 5 (External number assignment without number range check only) is entered in the Number assignmt field.
  4. Exception : Document Types IHD and OHD
    Make sure that 1 (Only internal number assignment) is specified in the Number Assignment indicator. Enter an internal number range. In addition, specify a maximum file size.
  5. Make sure that the Document Desc. field is set to "." (optional entry) and not "+" (required entry).
  6. Exception : Document Types IHD and OHD
    Make sure that "+" is specified for the Document short text "+" (Required entry) indicator.
  7. Save your entries and go back.
  8. Double-click Define document status.
  9. Replace all O (original processing status) and S (locked status) statuses with blank (no special status type). Ignore any warnings that appear here.
  10. Save your entries.
  1. Check whether the entries you require to display templates, report bodies, and final reports (for example, PS, RTF, and WWI) exist and create them if necessary.
  2. You need the WWI entry for EH&S reports in Document Management.
    In addition, check whether the IHD and OHD entries for displaying occupational health and industrial hygiene and safety measures documents are available.
  3. Select one of each of the entries given above and choose Details.
  4. Set the Start Authorization indicator. Also set the indicator for not renaming the temporary files for the workstation applications IHD and OHD. Enter *.* as the file format.
  5. Save your entries.
