In this IMG activity you define validity area categories that you use to group validity areas together in organizational units in the IMG activity Specify Validity Areas.
If you want to set up dynamic input help that is dependent on the validity area category for the validity area field in the IMG activity Specify Validity Areas, enter the appropriate values in the following three fields:
Field Description
Table name DDIC table or customer table
Field name depending on DDIC table specified
Check function optional
You can enter a check function to check the value that the user enters in the validity area field with regard to the table and field names depending on the validity area category.
If you set the other values allowed indicator, you can still enter other values in the IMG activity Specify Validity Areas despite the check function. If you do not specify a check function, entry of other values is allowed anyway.
If you set the authorization relevant indicator, you need at least one authorization object for each validity area category used to display data.
Example of display authorization:
To be able to display value assignments whose usage was defined for different validity areas, you must have defined at least one authorization object for each validity area category for which the authorization relevant indicator was set:
Value assignment has following usage:
Validity area cat. Validity area Rating
REGION DE PUBLIC
REGION US PUBLIC
REGION REG_EU INTERNAL
PLANT 0001 INTERNAL
If the validity area categories REGION and PLANT are authorization relevant, you must have, for example, at least the following display authorizations to be able to display the data record.
Validity area Rating
DE (validity area cat. REGION) PUBLIC
0001(validity area cat. PLANT) INTERNAL
However, to change the data record, you must have authorization for all entries.
Example
The following input values are used:
- Validity area category: PLANT
- Table name: T001W
- Field name: WERKS
Requirements
Standard settings
