In this IMG activity, you set up the job for the inheritance report RC1R0INH to be event controlled.

The job starts the report if the statuses are changed as follows (see also status of inheritance relationship):

  • Consistent -> Ready to inherit
  • Initial -> Ready to inherit

In status Ready to inherit the update is then executed by the background job:

The job creates a link between source specifications and target specifications for the data records that correspond with the criteria in the inheritance template. All data records in the target specification receive the source data record number and are thereby linked.

The attribute for inheritance is set for the source specification if it is not already set. After the data has been created, the job sets the status Consistent. If errors occur, the job sets the status Incorrect.

If the job cannot be executed because the data is locked by a user, you can use the environment parameter INH_JOB_DELAY to specify the time period after which the job reschedules itself. If you have not defined a value, the job is rescheduled after 10 minutes (see also IMG activity Specify Environment Parameters).

Note:

On the Relationships tab page in the header data you can

  • use the Addit. info. pushbutton to check whether the job is running for the background job for data inheritance
  • use the Restart inheritance pushbutton to manually restart the inheritance

Activities

  1. Call the SAP system for the client you require and from the menu, choose System -> Services -> Jobs -> Define Job.
  2. Enter a job name and choose the job class.
  3. Choose Edit -> Start date and in the following dialog box choose the function After event.
  4. In the Event field, enter the key SAP_START_EHS_INH_PROCESS and set the Execute job periodically indicator.
  5. Choose Check and save.
  6. Choose Edit -> Steps. The Create Step 1 dialog box appears.
  7. Choose ABAP program.
  8. Enter RC1R0INH as the name of the ABAP program.
  9. Choose Check and save. The step list appears.
  10. Go back and then save.
