Use
In this IMG activity, you can define assessment sessions. Note that assessment sessions represent academic sessions in the system.
You have already defined your university's (general) academic sessions in Customizing for Campus Management in the section Campus Management Master Data -> Academic Calendars -> Academic Years and Sessions -> Define Academic Sessions. If the assessment sessions coincide with these academic sessions, you do not have to define any new assessment sessions in this activity.
If you define new assessment sessions, you can combine these to a period group and specify this as the assessment group for the academic records application.

Define Academic Sessions
In this IMG activity, you define the academic sessions you need to map your university's academic periods in the system.
You can assign each academic session a higher-level academic session.
You can also assign each academic session a session type and a numeric value which defines its sort sequence. The system does not evaluate the session type and sort sequence.
You can define your university's academic periods by assigning academic sessions to academic years. You make this setting in the IMG activity Assign Academic Sessions to Academic Years.
Requirements
You have defined the required session types in the previous IMG activity.
Activities
- Enter a three-digit numeric key and a description for each academic session you create.
- Assign a higher-level session to academic sessions where required.
- Assign a session type and a numeric value for the sort sequence to academic sessions where required.
