Use

In this IMG activity, you specify the quantity limits that apply in the individual regulations for substances that must be tracked. For each regulation, you can specify several quantity thresholds in weight units of measure (for example, tonnes). For the quantity thresholds, you can specify the following limit values:

  • The general quantity limit value contains the quantity limit values from the regulation, for example:
    • Quantity threshold 1: up to 1 tonne
    • Quantity threshold 2: 1 to 10 tonnes
    • Quantity threshold 3: 10 to 100 tonnes
    • Quantity threshold 4: above 100 tonnes

Note the following when you specify the general quantity limit values:

    • The limit values must be specified so that every possible quantity of a substance can be assigned to a quantity threshold.
    • The upper limit value for the highest quantity threshold must contain the maximum possible value (999999.9999).
    • If you specify a time period, the limit values apply for this time period; if you do not specify a time period, the limit values apply for a calendar year.
  • The relative quantity limit value specifies the percentage value of the general quantity limit value that must be exceeded before the system carries out an action. Possible actions are:

A general quantity limit value (for example, in tonnes) must always exist for a relative quantity limit value to which the relative limit value refers. Conversely, there must always be at least one relative quantity limit value for each quantity threshold. Otherwise, an error message appears in the application log.

The message type that you specify for the relative quantity limit values controls the overall status in monitoring:

  • No overrun of quantity limit: Green traffic light
  • Overrun of quantity limit with "information" message type: Green traffic light
  • Overrun of quantity limit with "warning" message type: Yellow traffic light
  • Overrun of quantity limit with "error" message type: Red traffic light

There must always be at least one entry for each threshold in relative quantity limit values under "Specify Quantity Limits". Otherwise an error message appears in the application log.

Example:

Qty Threshd    Gen.Limit    Rel.Limit    Action If Greater Than

1    to 1 TO    70%    0.7 TO

1    to 1 TO    100%    1 TO

2    1 to 10 TO    70%    7 TO

2    1 to 10 TO    90%    9 TO

2    1 to 10 TO    100%    10 TO

and so on

By specifying different relative limit values for a quantity threshold, you can determine that the system carries out actions in stages, for example, that the system informs you when 70% is reached and blocks the business process when 100% is reached.

If the property tree does not contain a specific quantity limit value for a substance, the quantity limit 1 from this IMG activity applies. You can specify the quantity the was registered for the substance (registered quantity) in the substance property tree.

The value assignment types are in the function module that is specified in the Specify Data Transfer (Property Tree) IMG activity. In the standard system, this is function module CBRC_EHS_FILL_MAP, which reads information from the value assignment types SAP_EHS_1026_001 and SAP_EHS_1023_057. For more information, see the application help.

To use your own value assignment types, you can replace the CBRC_EHS_FILL_MAP function module with your own function module, or use the environment parameter SVT_CLASS_PRAEFIX (Prefix for Classes in SVT).

This quantity is the quantity limit for the substance and overrides the general quantity limit from this IMG activity. You can also specify relative quantity limits for the substance that override the relative quantity limits from this IMG activity. If you do not specify relative quantity limits for a substance, the system uses the relative quantity limits from this IMG activity whose general quantity limit contains the registered quantity of the substance.

Example:

You have specified a registered quantity of 25 tonnes in the substance, but you have not defined relative quantity limits. In this IMG activity, you have defined the following quantity limits:

  • Quantity threshold 1: up to 1 tonne
  • Quantity threshold 2: 1 to 10 tonnes
  • Quantity threshold 3: 10 to 100 tonnes
  • Quantity threshold 4: above 100 tonnes

Then the system uses the relative quantity limits for the substance that you entered in this IMG activity for quantity threshold 3 and relates the percentage values to 25 tonnes.

When evaluating the quantity thresholds, the lower limit of an interval is not part of the interval, but the upper limit is. This means that a quantity of, for example, 10 tonnes is assigned to quantity threshold 2, not to quantity threshold 3.

Note

Entries in the Period field are not evaluated in the standard system. However, the field is available for your own implementations.
