In this step, you define how actual hours are to be translated into service. Actual hours are cumulated in the reference period defined by the calendar type for service calculation. You only need to complete this step if you want to use the hours counting method for calculating length of service.
You can enter as many equivalencies between actual hours and length of service as you require. Each entry defines a minimum number of hours that an employee must work in order to attain a certain service equivalent. The system compares the actual hours cumulated for an employee with the entries that you make here and identifies the highest minimum number of hours step that is equal to or less than number of actual hours. It then reads the equivalent length of service.
