Use this Customizing activity to maintain and monitor the SAP System's Personal Security Environments (PSEs) that are used for digital signatures and encryption in SAP Systems. For example:
- The system PSE
The default PSE used by the SAP System for creating digital signatures. The system PSE is located at $DIR_INSTANCE/sec/SAPSYS.pse.
- The SSL server PSE
The PSE used by the SAP Web Application Server when using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol for securing HTTP connections when the SAP Web Application Server communicates as the server component for the connection.
- SSL client PSEs
PSEs used by the SAP Web Application Server when using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol for securing HTTP connections when the SAP Web Application Server communicates as the client component for the connection. Note that the server may have multiple client identities, and therefore multiple SSL client PSEs.
- SNC PSEs
PSEs that are used for securing communications using Secure Network Communications. For more information, see Secure Network Communications.
