Creating Security Policies and Assigning Them to Users
Use
In this Customizing activity, you can adjust the security policies. You can use security policies instead of profile parameters to control system behavior user-specifically rather than system-wide, for example, for password rules. As soon as you assign a security policy to a user master record, it defines the system behavior. Profile parameter values only remain relevant for any user master records to which no security policies have been assigned.
Requirements
Standard settings
A security policy is a collection of security policy attributes and their values. All available security policy attributes are contained, with default values, in every security policy. As an administrator, you can assign your own values that deviate from the default values.
Activities
To control the system behavior user-specifically, perform the following steps:
In this Customizing activity, create a security policy, in which you can set the values of the security policy attributes.
In user maintenance, assign this new security policy to the relevant users.
