Requirements

Standard settings

  • The Business Add-In is not active in the standard system.
  • The Business Add-In can be used more than once.

Activities

To activate the Business Add-In, you must create an active implementation. To do this, go to Customizing for the component Handling Unit Management and choose System Modifications ->Business Add-Ins in Handling Unit Management.

For more information about this procedure, see the SAP Library under

  • Basis Components -> ABAP Workbench -> Changing the SAP Standard -> Business Add-Ins -> Implementing Business Add-Ins.

Note that the Business Add-In can be used multiple times and therefore all active implementations are called and run through.

Example

  1. By deactivating functions using the method Exclude_Functions, you can make user-specific settings to hide certain functions, or realize an authorization check at function level using the FCODE.
  2. You can use the methodDEFINITION_SUBSCREEN to show one of your own subscreens on a particular tab page on the detail screen, in order to display customer-specific data.
  3. You can use the method STATUS_GET to replace the standard menu with a menu containing extra customer functions, and to process additional functions using one of the following methods FCODE_6000, FCODE_6100, and SCREEN_ATTRIBUTES, or to update additional customer data when you execute a standard function.
  4. You can use the methodSCREEN_ATTRIBUTES to control the display attributes of screen fields.
