Use

This Business Add-In (BAdI) lets you check if the DRG catalog contains a higher valuated DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) for a given DRG.

The following data is available to you for the check:

  • DRG code
  • DRG catalog
  • Institution

The BAdI is called in the view type "Coding Analyses".

Requirements

The implementation of this check is based on the German Diagnosis Related Groups (G-DRG) which is an adaptation and enhancement of the Australian DRG System (AR-DRG) to meet the requirements of the German healthcare market.

Standard settings

Activities

By default, the system checks whether the 4th digit of the DRG code is "A" or "Z". If a different value is found, the DRG catalog indicates a higher valuated DRG.

You can modify this check to meet customer-specific requirements. As a rule, in this connection you do not have to write your own source code. Only if you wish to implement checks different that that named above do you have to write your own source code.

The BAdI has a default implementation, and, as such, is active as standard.

Example

DRG codes that do not have "A" or "Z" as their fourth digit can have a higher valuation.

  • "A" highest level reached
  • "Z" no more CC splits exist

DRG Code    DRG Text

G01A    Rectal resection with catastrophic CC

G01B    Rectal resection without catastrophic CC

A01Z    Liver transplant

You'll find more information in the documentation for the method.
