Use

This Business Add-In (BAdI) lets you check the non-specificity of a diagnosis by means of

  • Its diagnosis code
  • The identification key of its catalog
  • Its localization.

Requirements

Standard settings

Activities

By default, the system checks whether the fourth digit of the diagnosis code is ".9". However, you can tailor this check to meet the customer's specific requirements. As a rule, this does not require you to write your own source code. Only if you wish to implement checks different to the ones mentioned above will you have to write your own source code.

The BAdI has a default implementation, and, as such, is active by default.

Example

Diagnoses whose code has the fourth digit ".9" are usually termed as "unspecified", i.e. non-specifc diagnoses, in the diagnosis coding catalogs.

Diagnosis Code    Diagnosis Text

022.0    Cutaneous anthrax

022.1    Pulmonary anthrax

022.2    Gastrointestinal anthrax

022.3    Anthrax septicemia

022.8    Other specified manifestations of anthrax

022.9    Anthrax, unspecified

Main diagnoses should always be specified. Only if you wish to use checks other than those contained by default here do you have to write your own source code.

You'll find further information in the documentation for the method.
