You define characteristic groups for an FM area in this step and define which grouping characteristics are contained within a characteristics group.
In assigning grouping characteristics to individual FM account assignments participating in a cover pool in the master data maintenance, you can group these FM account assignments together for a priority check by the active availability control (AVC).
When posting to an FM account assignment participating in a cover pool, the AVC first checks whether the FM account assignments having the same grouping characteristic still have enough funds available.
Please note that you cannot influence the order in which the AVC checks and, if required, claims the budget of the FM account assignments subject to cover.
During the grouping you only define that the budget of FM account assignments having the same characteristic is claimed before the budget of other FM account assignments having another or no characteristic is claimed.
