Use
Due to a change in the lease resulting from following business (base lease extension, renewal, and so on), it is possible that the leased object has to be represented in Asset Accounting by two different asset master records.
One asset master record represents the leased object before the change to the contract, the other after the change. Values for the second asset master record can either be calculated on a completely new basis, or the asset can copy its depreciation terms from the first asset master record, providing continuity in valuation.
In this IMG activity, you specify the following per accounting principle, in combination with the classification before and after the change to the contract:
Whether the depreciation terms in the new asset master record are set as new, or if they are copied from the original asset master record.

This setting for transfer of the depreciation terms overrides the setting for transfer of depreciation terms from the value IDs that you specified in IMG activity Normal Useful Life/Scrap Value.
