Diagnosis
An employee must give at least 28 days notice to the employer regarding the employee's intention to take paid Statutory Maternity Leave (SML), Statutory Paternity Leave (SPL-birth or adoption) or Statutory Adoption Leave (SAL).
The date entered in field Notfcatn.to employer (the date the employee notified his intention to take leave), is less than 28 days before the date on which the employee intends to begin their SML, SPL or SAL.
Note:
Where the field containing the intended start date for paid SML, SPL or SAL is not filled, this warning message is also generated when:
- the expected birth date or placement date of the child, is less than 28 days after the date when intention to take SML, SPL or SAL was given by the employee.
- or the actual birth date or placement date is less than 28 days after the date when intention to take SML, SPL or SAL was given by the employee.
System Response
Procedure
You must decide whether there are good reasons to accept a late notification from the employee and pay Statutory Maternity Pay, Statutory Paternity Pay (birth or adoption) or Statutory Adoption Pay accordingly.
