Diagnosis

The Qualifying Week (QW) - when determining eligibility for Statutory Maternity Pay or Statutory Paternity Pay (birth) - is the 15th week before the Expected Week of Childbirth (EWC). The date an employee gives notice of intention to take Statutory Maternity Leave or Statutory Paternity Leave for the birth of a child must be before the end of the Qualifying Week. The date entered in field Notfcatn.to employer is after the Qualifying Week.
